RRS Sir David Attenborough Virtual Tour

This virtual tour of the RRS Sir David Attenborough is the latest of our media team’s exciting high profile projects, and one of our most challenging shoots so far. The ship is still undergoing final preparations for launch so not all areas are available in this tour, but we are hoping to to extend this to the whole ship as soon as possible.

This preview tour has been produced in time for the official naming of the ship by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on September 26th 2019, and includes some of the key areas of the £200m vessel which has been built by Cammell Laird in Birkenhead, just a few miles away from our Wirral HQ.

By clicking on the 3D tour below, you can now experience the Bridge, Hanger, Flight Deck, Crew Rec Room, Mess and a cabin on the Sir David Attenborough.

This preview tour of the Sir David Attenborough is the largest ship that we have worked on so far. Despite the difficulties posed by working on a ship being prepared for launch, the usual marine tour difficulties of lighting and inside/outside spaces, and the high H&S and supervision threshold of working on such a high-profile project the hi-impact team were able to shoot, process and upload this tour within 24 hours.

Shooting a tour of a ship that is still in the final stages of construction was challenging, but following an initial visit to the site the team was able to plan a route that highlighted some of the key areas of the ship. Scanning took several hours, and although there are still a few areas of each room still waiting for finishing touches, the completed 3D virtual tour gives people an  insight into what this amazing vessel looks like.
